6 Reasons You Should Avoid Dairy at all Costs (Video)

Here’s an alternative view and very interesting. Tho Dr Mark Hyman opposes dairy, he concedes that raw dairy is better than that pesticide-laden, chemically adulterated, genetically modified crap the USDA and FDA allow to be sold as “milk” — which it clearly is not.  (Oh, that’s the base ingredient, for sure, but what those cows are forced to eat, endure and be medicated with should make all humans run in the opposite direction.)

Frankly, I won’t give up raw cheese. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

And of course we all can agree that the USDA’s food pyramid is total crap. Many nutritionists and other specialists have condemned it. We all know the USDA works for Monsanto, Big Food and Big Dairy.  The new food pyramid is merely a marketing tool, not a dietary guideline any reasonable person should take seriously.

  1. I agree with Dr. Hyman about milk and the truth about its real value. Think about it, what animal do you know of that keeps drinking milk after it is weened. Yes, zero is correct not even cats under normal cat conditions drink milk. Also, the cow creates her milk to create another cow not a human being. Why is that a problem? Because the cow puts genetic material and blood products into the milk for her babies health and our immune system finds it offence and attacks it.

If you are going to drink milk like the doctor says, raw milk is the better product. But milk drinking is about choice and you have the right to choose to drink and eat dairy products if you want. The HHS and the FDA has no right to get between you and those people selling dairy products of any type including raw.

  2. I still love my raw milk and cheeses. Call me addicted. But I don’t eat the cheeses every day. And the milk is in my tea, and an ocassional glass of milk which I crave.

He states that the USDA Food Pyramid is wrong, which I agree with. That is no reason to not drink milk. If it were then following his logic we should avoid all foods on the pyramid which would be all foods, not a good idea.

He states that milk doesn’t reduce bone fractures. If true, so what, drinking water does not reduce bone fractures either.

He then mentions the “Nurses Study” and high dairy consumption “may” cause less bone density. Although he says “may cause” he follows up with “less dairy equals better bones”, a fact he has not shown.

I assume he is speaking of the Nurses Health Study conducted at Harvard. This is an observational, not a clinical study. So they have observed that nurses who eat less dairy have better bone density. Could it be that nurses who eat less dairy are more health conscience and most likely exercise more and we know for a fact that exercise does improve bone density. You have to look at all the behavior of the nurses not just pick out one thing and draw a conclusion from that.

He mentions Africans who don’t consume a lot of dairy have lower cases of osteoporosis. He later mentions without connecting the two, that vitamin D may reduce osteoporosis. Well the best source for vitamin D is the sun, which they get a lot of exposure to in Africa. So it may not be low dairy consumption but high vitamin D that is behind the low cases of osteoporosis.

He states that milk contains calcium and calcium may raise cancer risks and immediately says calcium supplements may lower cancer risks. So the fact that milk contains calcium may lead to the increase of certain cancers, while calcium may reduce certain cancer risks. I got it, as long as I don’t get my calcium from milk I should be okay. Do a Google search on “research shows calcium may reduce cancer risks” and see for yourself. Funny thing is if you do a search on “research shows calcium may raise cancer risks” it asks if you didn’t mean “reduce”.

Research actually shows that “too much” calcium may increase the risks of prostate cancer so it may be a wise idea to avoid calcium substitutes and stick with natural sources, like dairy.

He actually gives a real reason to avoid dairy, your lactose intolerant. If you are lactose intolerant give raw organic milk and dairy products straight from the farm a try, you may be surprised.

Finally saturated fat is linked to heart disease and dairy contains saturated fat. Well the “American Journal of Clinical Nutrition” did an analysis of 21 previous studies and found that saturated fat does not seem to be associated with heart disease. There is no point in arguing this point though, those who religiously believe it does, will always believe it and will never change their minds regardless of the facts.
