Percy Schmeiser vs Monsanto: The Story of a Canadian Farmer’s Fight to Defend the Rights of Farmers and the Future of Seeds

By Democracy Now!

See two excerpts from Bertram Verhaag’s documentary Percy Schmeiser: David versus Monsanto in this interview of  Right Livelihood laureate Percy Schmeiser, a Canadian farmer who has battled the biotech giant for years.

  1. Mr. Percy Schmeiser is a great hero of our time along with his family and neighbors for taking a stand for what is right against what seems like the unconquerable dark hearted corporation. Here is just a thumbnail sketch of Monsanto’s nasty track record. Agent Orange, Aspartame, PCB’s, rBGH, DDT, Dioxins, Pesticides, Herbicides and of course GMO’s sums up why everyone should fear, hate and despise this (I like this word) despicable corporation. One day that house of cards called Monsanto and their executives and government cronies are going to find themselves facing a court of justice. And I hope jail time is in store for their crimes against this world and humanity. I know it is going to happen just like bringing down the Berlin wall it is just a matter of time. Paul

  2. Really?

I thought that Percy was a hero, fighting GMOs, until I actually read the decisions of the Canadian courts, regarding his behavior. That’s quite separate from the issues as to the safety of GMOs and patent rights.

    Go read them.
