Blog Action Day taken over by UN NGOs: Oct. 16 topic is FOOD

.
Change.org announces that after overseeing Blog Action Day for the past two years, it’s handing the reins over to VOICE, an organization incubated at Oxfam and supported by ONE.org, Save the Children, WaterAid, the UN Foundation and others.

Since Blog Action Day 2011 (October 16) coincides with World Food Day, the topic this year will be FOOD.

Food is something that we all share in common, but is distinct to each of our cultures. The way we produce, distribute and consume food is crucial to our shared future, and the unhealthy imbalance of food scarcity in developing world and food over-abundance in the developed world is unsustainable for us all.

Blog Action Day 2011 will be an opportunity to open the conversation about how food impacts all of us – individually and globally.

First and last, the purpose of Blog Action Day is to create a discussion. We ask bloggers to take a single day out of their schedule and focus it on an important issue. By doing so on the same day, the blogging community effectively changes the conversation on the web and focuses audiences around the globe on that issue. Our hope is that out of this discussion naturally flow ideas, advice, plans, and action.

The big event is only a few weeks away, so please help kick things off by registering for Blog Action Day 2011 by clicking the link below:

  1. Glad I just heard of blog action day, and this years topic being World Food Day. My blog is about how to live with a food allergy(corn). Corn is in everything because of the FDA and the giant agra-farmers can’t seem to keep from contaminating the food, so the FDA deems it necessary to have all food (vegetables, and meat) cleaned with corn based citric acid or vinegar. I raise my own produce and eggs. I buy grass feed beef by the side and have it butched in a non-federal facility. Otherwise I carefully buy food from the farmers market, and a few choice non-contaminated items from the store.

  2. “change.org announces…”
holy *uck. you just announced your total enthrallment to un agenda 21 and the systematic poisoning of food, water, air and all life forms on the planet, population reduction, and the violence-enforced removal of all the rights we have left under the us constitution.

i appreciate your honesty, it is your criminal insanity i am having a little difficulty with. you are the absolute enemy. guess how fast i hope you disappear from the face of the earth. permanently. the un and all of its demon spawn.

    what has happened to humanity?!
