It’s disturbing walking through HEB, and seeing overweight Hispanic families attempting to find good food for their families. It is hopeless because the food has been rigged against them, and more against them than any other segment of the country.
As Hispanics have developed diabetes, the government tells them that they have a genetic predisposition to diabetes which is why they have more than other groups. Or it tells them that they feed their children poorly, or it tells them they don’t get enough exercise. What it doesn’t tell them is the truth.
Since 1996, thanks to Bill Clinton and his close association to Monsanto, most of the corn in the country that has been planted in the US (without testing for safety) is genetically engineered – altered at a very fundamental level – and that genetically engineered corn is associated with diabetes.
The government doesn’t tell Hispanics that between 1996 and 2006, only a ten year span, the rate of diabetes increased 90% in the US, while not doing so in the countries that banned genetically engineered crops. And the government doesn’t tell Hispanics that that mutant corn has had the greatest impact on Hispanics not because they have a predisposition to diabetes but because they eat more corn than any other group because corn is the central food in their diet.
It also doesn’t tell them that the high fructose corn syrup which is also associated with diabetes is now using genetically engineered corn so there is a multiplied diabetes effect. This dangerous product is in all the soft drinks and so much else in the grocery stores – chocolate drink mixes, candies, cake mixes, soups, breads, etc. Studies show that rats consuming even small amounts of HFCS only quickly become fat and their organs (ones associated with diabetes) become damaged, whereas rats consuming plain, normal sugar (and much more calories of it than the HFCS rats consumed) did not become fat and did not have organ damage.
The stunning rise in diabetes has alarmed pediatricians since they suddenly are seeing kids developing type 2 diabetes, something normally only seen in older adults until now. And from this children will face the same issues diabetic adult face – the risk of becoming blind, amputations, heart problems, etc. But the pediatricians do not make the link to the fundamentally altered corn and its presence across the American diet so they are not instructing their patients to eat only organic food (especially that made with corn).
The Hispanics at the grocery chain, HEB, are also confronted with dairy products almost all containing rBGH, a genetically engineered bovine (cow) hormone that makes cows produce much more milk. The cows are burned out from such unnatural production and in an extremely short number of years as a dairy cow, are destroyed for hamburger meat. But in both cases, those eating the dairy products or meat, are subjected to the hormone themselves. One of the effects of this GE-hormonal exposure is girls developing breasts at very young ages. And rBGH increases the risk of breast cancer by 7 times, as well as increases the risk of colon and prostate cancer. But as Hispanics parents spend carefully to feed their families, do they know? How can they, if the food is kept unlabeled?
The government doesn’t tell Hispanics that the only safe milk in the country is raw milk from health farms, which is 35,000 safer than any other food, and healing. Instead, it has done all in its power to criminalize raw milk, despite the direct association between pasteurized dairy products and Crohn’s disease. Raw milk is not only legal in most countries in Europe but even sold in schools, from vending machines, and at little road side stands. At HEB, one can’t even find organic milk, and the dairy industry milk (and butter, ice cream, cream cheese, cheeses, and so on) contain hormones, antibiotics, GMOs (genetically modified organisms), pesticides, pus, and some percentage include the Crohn’s bacteria.
The government has told Hispanic families that they are overfeeding their children and have recommended skim milk, less fat, and less sugar, but it has not said the truth – that the milk itself – fat or thin – is grossly contaminated, that fat is crucial for health, especially for growing children (but it must be from clean and healthy animals); that in general it is best not to consume sugar. But what is now in so much processed food (from soft drinks, cereals, bread, cake mixes, cookies, candies, soups, frozen foods, etc.) is high fructose corn syrup, which affects the body in ways that normal sugar does not. It is destructive of organs, fat-causing, and causes significant weight gain, even in small amounts.
“When rats are drinking high-fructose corn syrup at levels well below those in soda pop, they’re becoming obese — every single one, across the board. Even when rats are fed a high-fat diet, you don’t see this; they don’t all gain extra weight.”
On top of that and to multiply the threat of diabetes, the corn in HFCS is not normal corn but is genetically engineered, which is itself associated with diabetes. So, HFCS is really GE–HFCS. And as though so much damage to the body, across so many foods, were not enough, GE-HFCS contains mercury.
Genetically engineered crops are also associated with infertility and sterility but most Hispanics parents, looking for good food for their children, do not know that, and the food is not labeled so they can’t tell, though it is labeled in Europe, Japan and other countries and avoided. Hispanics, because of their diet centered on corn, are the butt end of corporate assault of food and the end result is they are eating the most toxic diet in the world (video), without knowing it.
A renowned Hispanic scientist at UC Berkeley reported that genetically engineered corn was even showing up in areas of Mexico where there should have been none. Since Mexico is the origin of corn in the world, this unexpected spread of GE-corn genes to normal corn is a great biological threat to Mexico’s corn and to mankind maintaining genes for normal corn. The multinational company that has genetically engineered corn and holds patents on it orchestrated a personal attack on the scientist and threatened his job. The company is infamous for its tactics, but in the end, for Hispanics, what matters is that the seeds the company is producing are a direct threat to lives, and the pesticide paired by contract with those seeds causes severe birth defects. Our regulators knew the toxicity in advance but misled the public.
One of the most respected scientists in the world who had been in favor of genetic engineering was asked to look at GE-potatoes but immediately lost his job in reporting they had damaged organs; a scientist in France whose studies disputed the company’s safety claims on three of its corn varieties, was personally and falsely defamed by the company; and a scientist in Argentina trying to report this tragedy, was met by mob with clubs.
In this rigged food system, with their most basic food altered and associated with causing diabetes and more, Hispanics are increasingly ill and are suffering. To top it off, they are being blamed for something that is not their fault and are given no true means to escape the dangers their families are in, for the corn is not labeled as genetically engineered.
Corn is sacred in Hispanic culture.
For the US government on behalf of multinational corporations to have turned it into a mutant crop that damages the very people who have worshipped it is immoral. And it is literally a crime against humanity for the USDA has funded development of a corn that sterilizes. F. William Engdahl writes:
“One long-standing project of the US Government has been to perfect a genetically-modified variety of corn, the diet staple in Mexico and many other Latin American countries. The corn has been field tested in tests financed by the US Department of Agriculture along with a small California bio-tech company named Epicyte. Announcing his success at a 2001 press conference, the president of Epicyte, Mitch Hein, pointing to his GMO corn plants, announced, ‘We have a hothouse filled with corn plants that make anti-sperm antibodies.’14
“Hein explained that they had taken antibodies from women with a rare condition known as immune infertility, isolated the genes that regulated the manufacture of those infertility antibodies, and, using genetic engineering techniques, had inserted the genes into ordinary corn seeds used to produce corn plants. In this manner, in reality they produced a concealed contraceptive embedded in corn meant for human consumption. ‘Essentially, the antibodies are attracted to surface receptors on the sperm,’ said Hein. ‘They latch on and make each sperm so heavy it cannot move forward. It just shakes about as if it was doing the lambada.’15 Hein claimed it was a possible solution to world ‘over-population.’” [Emphasis added.]
The UN has definitions which appear to apply to genetically engineered corn and which would make it a crime against humanity:
“… causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life, calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;”
Obama has broken specific campaign promises to label genetically engineered food and instead has kept this non-food (real food sustains life and heals) unlabeled, making it almost impossible to avoid.
Hispanic’s beloved and sacred corn has been turned into a danger to their and their children’s lives. They need to know.
