Like the Patriot Act? You’re gonna love the Food Safety Modernization Act

12/22/2010: House passes food control bill; now awaiting Obama signature

By Rady Ananda

Down to the wire – the bill will likely be voted on this Monday, November 29. Farmers, slow food activists, natural food growers and distributors have condemned the federal government seizing control of how food is grown and sold. Yet, every day, in corporate and first tier “alternative” media sites, support for the bill is promoted. Here’s why you shouldn’t fall for the psyops.

At Food Freedom, Global Research, The People’s Voice, Dissident Voice, Counter Currents, the Jeff Rense Program, Natural News, David Icke, Activist Post, What Really Happened, Before It’s News, Blacklisted News, InfoWars, Farm to Consumer Legal Defense Fund, G. Edward Griffin, and (several more) we’ve covered S 510 extensively. We’ve summarized and detailed the bill’s sections, showing the effects. We’ve made the connections to Monsanto and the Rockefellers, and the move by elites to control every aspect of human life. They want us to eat chemically and genetically altered food.

We’ve exposed the physical, financial, social and environmental harm caused by their food plans, citing biological and social scientists.  Their Food “Safety” plan parallels the Patriot Acts; it is a raw power grab to alter and control how humans sustain themselves.

Here are some articles of note, in case you’re still unclear how devastating this bill will be for the US food supply:

S.510 now HR 2751: Tell Reps to Vote NO on Food Safety Modernization Act
Farm to Consumer Legal Defense Fund
Dec. 20, 2010   Yesterday, the Senate passed the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA, formerly S.510) as an amendment to H.R. 2751, which was sent back to the House where it could be voted on as early as Tuesday.

Foiled ‘terror’ plot on eve of passage of Food Patriot Act
Rady Ananda
Dec. 21, 2010 Adding to the long list of government-orchestrated terror events, we now learn of an alleged plot to poison the food supply. The transparent timing of such a “news” story couldn’t be more obvious if Obama had cried ‘Wolf!’

The Dark Agenda of S.510: Feds order destruction of wheat fed to chickens
Mike Adams
Dec. 21, 2010  Attorneys, legislators and internet commentators claim, “The government won’t try to control the food production of small farms.” They say, “Your backyard garden is safe” and that the feds won’t come knocking on your door to control your seeds or foods. But history reveals the opposite reality.

S510 not about food safety
Ben Hewitt
Dec. 11  S.510 does nothing to address the utter lack of transparency in the methods of production, processing, and distribution; it does not acknowledge the rapidly increasing consolidation in our food industry, whereby a single facility can sicken ten of thousands with a single incident of contamination. It certainly does not recognize the mounting danger inherent to common 21st century meat production practices.

S. 510, Codex, and ‘New Dietary Ingredients’
By Brandon Turbeville

“Unconstitutional” food bill driven by Big Food lobby dollars
By Rady Ananda
Dec. 3, 2010 An unconstitutional provision in S.510 renders it back to the Senate. Meanwhile, here’s a look at the money spent in passing it, and another look at the Tester Amendment.

Why Senators Should Oppose S 510
By NICFA
Beyond the cost and burdensome paperwork to small farms, because the FDA has authority to inspect processing plants and imports, yet it inspects less than 1% of imports and less than 25% of the processing facilities it is authorized to. Still, FDA has the time and personnel to harass Amish farmers, raid food clubs, and pull over individuals who are transporting privately purchased fresh milk and make them dump it on the roadside.

Top ten lies about Senate Bill 510
Mike Adams
Dec. 1  Here are the ten biggest lies that have been promoted about S.510 by the U.S. Congress, the food industry giants and the mainstream media.

Why the Tester Amendment Does NOT Help Small Food Producers under S.510
By Eric Blair
Dec. 1, 2010  For the smallest food producers to become exempt from some provisions of S.510, they must submit three years of detailed financial records, detailed hazard analysis plans, and detailed proof of compliance with local, county and state laws. Then, the Secretary of Health and Human Services must approve each exemption.

Tester Amendment to food ‘safety’ bill puts lipstick on a pig
By Rady Ananda
The voice of controlled opposition wants Americans to believe that the Tester Amendment to S 510, the Food Safety Modernization Act, elevates the bill to something we should adopt. It isn’t The Tester Amendment amounts to putting lipstick on a pig. It’s still a pig, and it still needs to be slaughtered.

S 510 Food Safety? The FDA has killed far more people than contaminated eggs or lettuce
By Mike Adams
Proponents of Senate Bill 510 — the Food Safety and Modernization Act — keep trying to claim that we need the FDA to protect us from tainted food. But the FDA is responsible for far more deaths of Americans than all the terrorist events in the history of the world — combined.

Various organizations have posted their analysis of what the impact would be from S. 510, the Food Safety Modernization Act, which was moved out of committee yesterday, for a full vote within 60 days. Drawing only from those which oppose S. 510, below are summaries of some of those analyses, along with a link to contact your Senators.

Propaganda Alert: AP reports Small Farms are Exempt from Food Safety Bill
By Activist Post
A day after the Food Safety Modernization Act (S.510) passed cloture with a vote of 74-25, the Associated Press put out some world-class propaganda claiming that “Some small farms would be exempt from government efforts to prevent foodborne illness under a Senate agreement on food safety legislation.”  That’s not quite true.

S.510, alternative medicine and natural foods
By Suzana Megles
For too long, we have let government entities like the FDA call the shots on important things which reflect on our lives. And sadly many of us believe that the FDA is too cozy with big corporations as in the case of Monsanto and others. Monsanto has almost put a stranglehold on the rights of the small farmer. We are eating genetically modified foods. GM food is wrong in my opinion. If it is in yours as well, please e-mail your US Senators and ask them to OPPOSE S 510.

What’s For Dinner? Corporate Food Tyranny
By Russ
S 510 has been the subject of great controversy, with many like me calling it a Food Tyranny bill, others dismissing this as overly alarmist. There’s nothing exaggerated in the alarm we raise, as we look at the evidence of the government’s stated ideology and its record of action to date.

FDA’s Ace in the Hole
By Pete Kennedy
Despite there being not even a single report of illness, the FDA has suspended the licenses of raw milk over positive tests for Listeria monocytogenes. S 510 would give the FDA more power to target raw food producers. http://wp.me/pyeD4-1fY

  1. The UNITED STATES is a Corporation. It runs off corporate statutes, codes and the Uniform Commercial Code. These are NOT LAWs; people must consent to be in relationship for these to be enforceable constraints. We may refuse to recognize a for-profit Corporation ruling over us. And this we must do, since the Firm is now run by nut-cases.

  2. like Gandhi says, “Civil disobedience becomes a sacred duty when the state becomes lawless or corrupt.”

  13. I have just a tiny criticism Rady. You should have put a swastika just above FDA on the hat. I know, I am getting a little obsessive about comparing these government and corporate goons to Nazi’s. But ya know the more I learn about them the more the label fits them like a pair of those strange Hobnailed Jackboots Hitler used to wear. Paul
    Ps
And I am probably elevating myself closer to that kidnap or shoot on sight list they have at the FDA and Monsanto. You know the one they had Greg Canton’s name on till the FDA kidnapped him and put him in prison. The FDA accomplished that by lying to Interpol and breaking numerous Ecuadorian laws, they are really something special aren’t they?

  14. It’s infuriating, to say the least. Just blogged a like-minded post along with some supporting video to help explain just what is really going on here.

  15. I am completely sickened and very saddened about this whole thing. I just found this today and wish I could have helped stop this by signing the petition and passing it around to everyone I know before it was passed. Now it’s too late and I’m so disheartened. Is there anything we can do???????
